About Karen
Hello, I’m Karen, and I’m an internationally recognised senior research and design consultant with a track record in delivering impactful projects across industry and academia. I have extensive experience in leading research programmes and mentoring staff and teams. I have experience in stakeholder engagement at scale and in reporting findings to inform strategic decision-making. I have designed and delivered impactful leadership training and coaching programmes, and I am professionally trained in UX Product Design with a focus on behavioural change and health.
I’m passionate about shaping technologies and organisational environments that support people to thrive. I leverage a background in media and cultural studies, underpinned by psychoanalytic frameworks, to understand and design for data-heavy systems and complex organisations in ways that uniquely seek to empower human experience.
My research on the social and cultural impacts of emerging technologies has been published in multiple books and journal articles. In 2021, I became an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Roehampton, and in 2019, I became a Founding Scholar of the British Psychoanalytic Council. I write the Healing Media Newsletter on Substack, where I explore the latest in digital healthcare and HCI for therapeutic purposes.
From leading research projects to assisting companies with R&D claims, I have delivered value at every level.
